30 November 1870 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 30th [November 1870]. When I came to breakfast I found Señor Monteverde had come to fetch Arthur & go & shoot in the Casa de Campo. Car & Ade. went to Palmaroli’s—& I waited in as I expected Mrs Hamilton to call. She came with her 2 boys & then Hy & I went off to Pal’s studios to fetch C & A. home. After lunch Car & Ad. & Mr Spencer went with Henry to the gallery, & I went & fetched them home. Canovas del Castillo called. I had singing lesson. Mr Spen: dined with us & Mr Goschen came in the evening & we had some singing & I sang a great many English things to them– | |
