5 December 1870 — Madrid | |
Monday. 5th [December 1870]. Adeline Henry & I went for a drive & to see Don Federigo Madrazo’s studio & there saw some sketches of his sons & also some of his son in law Fortuny– They seemed to me clever but tricky &c. It was a very cold day & a few flakes of snow fell– We had a dinner to wh came the Marquises de la Vega de Armijo the Bernars, Silvelas, Llorentes, & Mr Ffrench. It was rather dull & very few people came in the evening on account of the weather for the snow was falling thickly. | |
