19 December 1870 — Madrid | |
Monday. 19th [December 1870]. Henry took Adeline to Pals to sit for her portrait. We dined alone today & the 1st to come in the eveng was Escobar– We had few people & those few were dull—the Osmars, Habers, Molins &c. When they were nearly all gone I sang a little & our spirits revived a little, but it was a relief when over. | |
