26 December 1870 — Madrid | |
Monday. 26th [December 1870]. Got up late. Mme Prim sent me a large ormolu box with china angels & full of bonbons. I did not go out but H & A took a walk. I wrote to Merthyr & did a lot of copying for Henry. M. Ochoa & Mr Molony called. Palmaroli came at 5 & we read a little Maria Stuart before dinner. Dined alone. In eveng a good many people came the Dss de Tetuan & 2 sisters D’Ayltons, de Martinos, Whytes, Alminas & several more pleasant people & we had a more genial eveng than the last & went to bed late. | |
