19 January 1871 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 19th [January 1871]. Up by 11– Not much better—head bad & on the sofa. In the afternoon Mme de Martino came to see me & sat a couple of hours. Mariana came with scraps of lace– I did not go in to dinner. Wrote a line to Adeline– This is the 5th day we have had no post from England. Henry & I did Acrostics in the evening. | |
