18 February 1871 — Madrid | |
Saturday. 18th [February 1871]. I went to breakfast at the Serranos & sat & worked with her all the morning till 3 when I came home. I expected Mrs Hunt to come & practise Glees but she did not come. Mrs Hunt & Mr Ff dined with us & after came Mme Figueras & Mme Ochoa with her brother & Emilia & Mr Gayangos & Mr Hunt & M. Esperanza & we tried to sing Glees but only succeeded moderately well. We did not go to a ball at the Marquesa de Vinent where we were invited. Zorilla’s life attempted. | |
