Friday. 3rd [March 1871]. At lunch time in rushed Mr Ff: saying he had made up his mind to start this evening on a visit to Palma. We went to the Bauers’ box at the Opera to hear Rossini’s Messe Solenelle sung by Signors Tamberlick & Goussier & Signoras Festa & Tiberini. It was very badly done especially the choruses. | |
