8 March 1871 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 8th [March 1871]. I wrote in the morning & at 3 went to call for the Aylton girls & took them driving. We went leaving cards & I called on Mme de Martino. Met Count Brunetti there. We took a turn in the Fuente & saw the King. They came here & had some tea & then went home at 6. We dined alone & I worked all the eveng at the frame. | |
