2 January 1872 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 2nd January [1872]. Woke with headache so I took strong black coffee & remained all day on the sofa in my room reading– At 5 Clarita Hunt came to see me & Hy being in my room we had tea there. At 6 I got up & dressed & we went to dine at 7 with the French Amb: met there several colleagues—the Canitz—de Martinos, Mendez Leals—Jooris—&c– At 10 we came home Henry having also a very bad influenza & both feeling shaky. | |
