3 January 1872 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 3rd January [1872]. Rather headachy & still a cold but after luncheon Henry & I took a drive & made Emilia Riaño come out with us, we only took a little turn & took her back to her house. Genl Milans del Bosch came to tea at 5 to tell us his wife & daughter cd not come to us last Monday, but would come next—rather [to] my dismay as I had never invited them. Mme de Barral also came & said her husband was better. Clarita came also– We dined alone & were glad to get early to bed. | |
