13 January 1872 — Madrid | |
Saturday. 13th [January 1872]. I went & breakfasted with the Dss de la T. & came back at 2 for the church practise. Clarita came to see me & also Palmaroli & Esquivel & we had tea early. At 8 we dined with the Bauers & met the Bernars, Dragonettis, Vernouillets, Chevalier Nicholas, who has just recovered from rheumatic fever. Lindstrand & Lopez de Gama. We had a very pleasant dinner—& afterwards went for a short time to the Rochefoucaulds found Bedmars & a few people there but we did not stay long. | |
