19 January 1872 — Madrid | |
Friday. 19th January [1872]. Esq: gave me a drawing lesson. I did not go out. Wrote to Arthur to Gib: & to Adeline to Eng: Clarita & St Asaph came to call & at tea Mme Ettling. We dined at the Palace a dinner given to the chefs de missions. Barral took me in & talked food all the time—on the other side I had the F Ambassador who took in the Q. & had to talk to her– Dancing in the evening but we left early. | |
