2 May 1872 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 2nd [May 1872]. I suppose I got a little cold last night as I got up with a swelled eye, however it did not prevent my going out driving with Susan, Mrs B & Mr Hambro. We drove in the Fuente but did not get out till rather late as the Dss of Fernan Nuñez called just as we were starting. We had a field day with the drawing room furniture & in the evening as Henry went out to see the Dss de la Torre we had another skirmish. He did not find the Dss in & so came home early & surprised us at our work– | |
