27 May 1872 — Granada | |
Monday. 27th [May 1872]. Mrs Burr & I went to the Generalife to draw & found my friend the boy Francisco Fernandez who was as charming as ever. I left Mrs B. there & went back to lunch & directly after Henry, Susan & I went down to the town to pay farewell visits—on our return we went to take leave of Sr Contreras & the Alhambra & he had the fountains turned on for us. We lingered there till nearly sunset when S. & I went to the hotel & the others went to the Torre de la Vela to see the sunset. Had a visit from the “Misus” i.e. Señores de la Torre who were frantic we had not called on them before today. We dined at 8 & went early to bed. | |
