29 May 1872 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 29th [May 1872]. At 6 o’clock we arrived at Madrid went straight home had some food & went to bed till 11. At 1 Brehm came & saw Susan. He said that she had a rheumatic paralysis of the facial nerve & that it will be some time before it gets quite well. In the afternoon we took a drive & left Mrs Burr at Laurent’s—went also to leave cards on Emilia– | |
