13 August 1872 — Champfer | |
Tuesday. 13th [August 1872]. We went down to St Moritz on foot & came back in the Bus. Maria did not go out after dinner so Henry & I took a saunter up to a café called the “Alpina” where we rested & then got home just in time to escape a shower wh we generally get of an evening. Dr & Mrs Smith came over to dinner & went away abt 3. We had also a visit from Mr & Mrs Stewart & La Marquise de Taliacarne, an Englishwoman, whom we knew thro’ Mme Dragonetti. | |
