30 September 1872 — Madrid | |
Monday. 30th [September 1872]. Lady Somers was not well eno’ to get up, her cold being worse & having a sore throat. Nicolas & Alvareda dined with us & after dinner when I went to see Lady S I found her worse & Hill much alarmed so we sent for a Dr—Brehm being still away Dr Fontaine came. He pronounced her illness to be diptheria. | |
