24 October 1872 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 24th October [1872]. I went out in the morng with Lady S. & Addie; we went to Gardeners & I had my tooth stopped & then we took Addie to the Academy to see the Murillos & the rest of the day I spent drawing with Ld Somers & he helped me to colour my sketch of Toledo. They were also busy packing & at 7 we dined & they went off by the 9 o’cl: train for Cordova much to our sorrow. But after their departure there seemed an unnatural calm in the house. | |
