23 November 1872 — Madrid | |
Saturday. 23rd [November 1872]. Woke with a headache & was so bad I could not get up all day & had to send for Dr Brehm. The Hunts & Riaños, Ct Nava del Tajo & Mr Crawford & Inzenga dined but I was in bed. I enjoyed the music thro’ the door & Emilia came & sat with me– Clarita for the 1st time in colors having worn the “habito” for 4 years—from a vow to the Virgin during her mother’s illness– Letter from Connie. | |
