27 November 1872 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 27th [November 1872]. Did a good deal of writing for Henry & letters for self & after lunch Henry & Mr Wylde rode & I drove left cards & went to see the Whytes. Found them in deplorable state of discomfort & saw Miss W. who is still in bed & powerless to move though better. The Riaños dined with us & we took Emilia with us to the Opera & heard Dinorah. De Meissen sang very well. The Barrals lent us their box. | |
