9 December 1872 — Madrid | |
Monday. 9th December [1872]. Woke with a headache so I did not get up till after lunch & then kept on the sofa & copied for Henry & the bills of fare for dinner. We had to dine with us the Bouillés. It was Alminas, Silvelas, Duke of Lehman &c & were 14 at table afterwards one or two people came afterwards. Genl Sickles & Mrs Sickles also dined. She has only been confined 25 days & looks pale but very pretty & was very well dressed. Her dress being from Worths. | |
