16 January 1873 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 16th January [1873]. Henry took me out walking in the afternoon (Barral came to offer us the Opera box tonight wh we cd not accept) & I met Emilia & went shopping with her & Mr Gayangos—looking for things for my Christmas Tree. Emilia & I took a cab to my house & we had tea & then her father fetched her & took her home. Henry & I dined at the Serranos but the Marshal was not well & was in bed. We met Condes La Rascon—Sr Mayo—Genl Lopez Dominguez, Marquis Apumad & a few people came in the evening—Css Campoalange &c– | |
