15 January 1873 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 15th [January 1873]. I went to breakfast with the Dss de la Torre. The Duke was not in for it. At 1½ I went home. In the evening I was reading out Marco Polo to Henry when Count Nava del Tajo came in to ask if he had any news of the Empress as they had not heard & as the Alba girls had been telegraphed for he was afraid she was ill. Henry promised to telegraph for news. | |
