27 January 1873 — Madrid | |
Monday. 27th [January 1873]. Henry took me out walking & we went to see Emilia & made her come out with us & we went to Vicentes’ the prindiro & I bought some Venice point. Later Mme Tolleville called to ask if she might bring a friend tonight– We dined in the room next my boudoir & then I dressed for dinner. Wore white silk with black bows & silver wheat ears. A very successful ball—a great many people. I went to bed at abt 1. | |
