29 January 1873 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 29th [January 1873]. I went to breakfast with the Dss de la Torre—the Duke is still at Jaen. On my way home I went to call on the Whytes in their new house in the Calle del Cid 5 & found them in—left a few cards & came home. Henry went out riding. No post the rails having been taken up by Carlists– Clarita came to see me & spent some time talking to me– In the evening I played the harmonium wh I have had brought up out of the chapel– To bed abt 11– | |
