28 March 1873 — Madrid | |
Friday. 28th March [1873]. Was rather a busy day as the messenger started for London & I had to help– Mme Ettling came in the afternoon– In the evening we had the Bauer’s box & went to hear the “Creation” horribly given—½ left out & the rest horrible neither the conductor orchestra or singing understanding the music there was hardly anyone there & all the evening we only saw 2 persons to speak to Isabel Madrazo who came from the box she was in & Rascon. I was wearied & tired & glad to get home– | |
