2 September 1873 — London | |
Tuesday. 2nd September [1873]. Mrs Rate sent Margie in the carriage to take us out shopping. Edgar & Leo came to luncheon & afterwards Edgar & I set out to walk abt to find a dentist as I wanted to have my tooth out. We went to Mr Ring’s & found he was out of town. We then went to Hanover Sqr & found one of the brothers Rogers there—after keeping us waiting some time he took out my tooth in a moment & without much pain & then we came home. As soon as Henry saw me return home & all right he went off to F.O. & came back at 5½ we then walked to Fitzroy Sqr to call on Lady Eastlake—en route we met Peter Parley. Found Lady E. at home & had a long talk with her & then walked home– After dinner we went to the Retro for a little while & then on to Lady Wm Russell’s where we met the Tom Hughes– Lady Wm seems better & talked a good deal. | |
