1 September 1873 — Uffington House, nr. Stamford, Lincolnshire | |
Monday. 1st September [1873]. Sat with Kitty all the morning while she packed, had luncheon & started for London by 11.20 train. At Peterboro Mr Marsh joined us. On our arrival I went to see Mrs Rate & sat with her. When Mr Rate came in he insisted upon fetching Henry & making us dine with him wh we did & I sat with her all the eveng in her bedroom. Her baby is to be named Enid & I am to be godmother. | |
