31 August 1873 — Uffington House, nr. Stamford, Lincolnshire | |
Sunday. 31st [August 1873]. We went to church in the morning—the Rector Mr Ranisden did the service & we walked up & down the garden after service till luncheon. I rested in the afternoon while the others went to church & then went out in the garden to see the Wisteria wh is the finest I know. It covers not only the gardens cottage but a long walk near it. After T. I sat & gossiped with Kate in my rooms till dinner. Felicia played the piano in the evening. | |
