12 September 1873 — Eastnor Castle, nr. Ledbury, Herefordshire
Friday. 12th [September 1873]. Painted & sang & sat with Lady Somers who was not well & in bed. After lunch we went out driving, went with Lady L. Mills, Henry & Ld Somers. We went towards the holy bush—& got out & took a walk– We went to a place where 3 counties meet, the views were lovely—the blackberries wonderfully plentiful. We joined the carriages again & drove home. It was a magnificent day & I sat some time on the terrace. Col. Yorke arrived to stay– Sat a long time winding silk with Addie & H. Bourke—& then went up & saw Addie’s room. Sat a bit with Henry in sitting room till dinner–
