11 November 1873 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 11th [November 1873]. Worked in the morning to finish the first strip of the screen. Clarita came to see me & Grau later. Henry went to see Serrano, the news from the N. is better. Moriones pretended victory turns out to be a defeat & a serious one. Busy day as the messenger left for Lisbon. Mme Bauer called. Conchita Serrano dined with us & I spent the evening in playing backgammon with her & trying the Ave Maria of Bach with organ & piano. | |
