6 December 1873 — Madrid | |
Saturday. 6th [December 1873]. Arranged my winter desk it being now very cold. Practised harmonium. Inzenga did not come– Clarita called. I went out at 3 & took Emilia driving– We went to buy plants &c– I began to read out Life of Hernan Cortes– Mr Hunt came up & also Count Maffei called. Read aloud after dinner. | |
