17 December 1873 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 17th [December 1873]. Mr Hamilton came & brought the 2 girls & Carry brought me a pair of slippers she has worked me– Ada is much better of the St Vitus’ dance. I practised an hour—wrote to Merthyr. At 3 went out driving & fetched the Dss de la Torre. We went into a good many shops & walked along the Calle Carmen & St Geronimo looking into the windows & I left a good many of our invitations for the Christmas dinner & left cards in Sra Puente from whom we had a card “apreceis a Cd su nueva vastagon.” Finished reading aloud Life of Hernando Cortès by Helps– | |
