29 December 1873 — Madrid | |
Monday. 29th [December 1873]. I went to see Clarita for the first time since the child’s death & then went on to the Canitz to see how Aurelie was as it was said she was ill wh turned out to be false as she was out. I met Henry at their door & we went together to the Fuente where we got out & walked a little & came home. Bernadine came to see us at 5. After dinner the Canitz, Bernars, Bauers, Sickles & a good many more came– Everybody is full of what is to happen on 2nd when the Cortès is opened. We played vingt et un & kept up late. | |
