30 December 1873 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 30th [December 1873]. Drove out in the afternoon & went to Mme Bauer to tell her I could not find her an English nurse as she wishes to change hers & then I went & fetched Emilia & we took a drive together & went to see Clarita & then I came home & sent her on to her own house. It was drizzling. Henry went to the Quesada music from 3 till 5. Miss Green & Isabella Madrazo called. We went to the Opera to hear the Favorita in the Sickles’ box. Heard the new arrived German Mme Edelberg who sang very well. Home early—great anxiety abt friday next. | |
