16 January 1874 — Madrid | |
Friday. 16th [January 1874]. Finished a translation with Henry. Worked at screen nearly all day. It was dull damp day so I did not go out. Moret called. Henry was very busy & did not come to the boudoir till 5. We played backgammon. The Riaños dined with us but Emilia had a very bad headache & eat nothing. Music in the evening– A duett of Rubinstein for piano & violin by Quesada & Espino & one between Mirecki & Quesada & then we played the Ave Maria all together as Quartett– | |
