15 January 1874 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 15th [January 1874]. Wrote & practised harmonium & at 1 Inzenga came for my lesson. It was a dull day & my cold was bad so I did not go out but read Spanish. Henry went out & did not come in till ½ past 5. We played backgammon till dinner & after went to the Canitz taking 2 Ayltons with us—there were a great many ladies there this time. I made the acquaintance of Mme Magallon who is a Scotch woman. | |
