27 January 1874 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 27th [January 1874]. Worked, marked & painted and had a lesson of Esquivel in the morning. After lunch M. St Martin of Santander called. I took Henry to Quesadas music & then went to try & get Emilia to drive with but she sent me word that her father had arrived & that she was going out with him so I left a few cards & came home at 4 & painted. At 5 Emilia & Mr Gayangos called & sat with us some time. We played backgammon & the harmonium in the evening. | |
