28 January 1874 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 28th January [1874]. Practised Mozart’s Quintett to play as piano forte duett. Painted & wrote letters. After lunch Vernouillet called & I had difficulty in hunting him out of Henry’s room as we wanted to ride. We went beyond the Fuente & up on the hill, it was quite hot. There is scarcely any snow on the Guadaramas this year– On returning to the Fuente we felt the cold & were glad to get home at 5. Read aloud art: in Quarterly on Mrs Somerville—badly written– | |
