24 April 1874 — Madrid | |
Friday. 24th [April 1874]. Copied music & wrote in the morning & sang. Went for a drive & took Nety to see Madrazo’s studio having met Henry in Fuente & taken him with us. Coming home they dropped me at Mrs MacDonells where I wanted to call—met Maffei there & he escorted me home. In the evening we went to the Presidencia to present Nety & Mrs MacDonell but at the last the latter was too ill to come & he alone came. We went on afterwards to the Canitz where we stayed late & we were rather bored. | |
