Saturday. 25th [April 1874]. Messenger Hall arrived. The heat today was very oppressive. Copied music—Nety had lesson of Inzenga– Mirecki came to see me & ask if Henry wd write & ask the Dss to recommend him as professor of Conservatoire. In the afternoon Nety & I sang together. At 4 the Dss’ children came to see Nety & then we went out driving we went to see the new bull ring that is building outside the town. It is very large & handsome. It was very hot & we went to the Retiro but found it too hot to walk & had to sit under the trees. There we met Monteverde. I went to see Mrs MacDonell– Mirecki & Inzenga came after dinner & we spent a regular musical evening. | |
