Thursday. 25th June [1874]. We did not get up very early but had time for a saunter thro’ the town before going down to the station at 12 to leave for Paris. We parted with Giovanni who is to go to Turin & meet us at Venice when we go there. At Sarg station the Marqueses de la Vega de Armijo got into the train; they had left Madrid 24 hours after we & had not slept at all en route. We dined at Bordeaux & went on by the same train to Paris. | |
