14 November 1874 — Madrid | |
Saturday. 14th [November 1874]. I was rather better today—begin to suspect I have fever as all the cellars & foundations are under water & we find that there is a leakage from an old conduit in the street which is destroying the foundations of our house. The Ayltons came & worked a little. At 3 I went out & fetched the Bishop back from the gallery. Went to Chaudordy’s box at the Opera—saw . | |
