10 December 1874 — Madrid
Thursday. 10th [December 1874]. Copied for Henry letters to go by Mr O’Conor who starts for England tonight via Canfranc. Esquivel gave me painting lesson; old Sr Marquès called– Mme Bauer called for the first time since her mourning for her mother. Missie came & also Ventenita Serrano to pass the afternoon. I had to amuse them. A very bitter windy day– O’Conor came & said good bye to me & started in the eveng.
