5 January 1875 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 5th [January 1875]. Copied despatches & for Henry. Went out driving after a visit from Clarita & Mr Gayangos who it appears came from England via Lisbon 2 days ago. I went to beg Brehm to come & see Ignacio who is still ill– Called on the Dss de la Torre but she was not visible. The Ayltons came to talk abt arranging some pink gowns wh I am going to help them to do. Chaudordy also called & he had a long talk with me abt the rude behaviour of the Alfonsist ladies to me & Henry & tried to patch it up. We meant to have gone around to the Bauers in the evening but it was too foggy & Henry has a cold. | |
