9 January 1875 — Madrid | |
Saturday. 9th [January 1875]. I went hard to work to finish our millinery & Bernadine joined me soon after breakfast. At 3.30 I took B to the Koudriaffskys. Went to see Emilia whom I found in & then to see Dss de la Torre whom I saw for a few minutes. She says the Duke is wanting to come to join her but the Govt will not allow it. Found Hy in the Recolletos & came home worked & finished all. At 10 we walked round to the Bauers found them alone– Later Chaudordy, España, Esquivel & Corretero came. The commission has started to fetch the King from Valencia. | |
