14 February 1875 — Madrid | |
Sunday. 14th February [1875]. I set to work to restring my pearl necklace wh took me all the morning. At ¼2 we went to the Circus Concert. The Phipps joined us there. It was very full & a good concert. Came home by 5. B. Aylton called. She was very bitter abt the appointments of the Govt as her father had had nothing offered him. By 6 Henry & I walked to the Bauers to see Mr Hermans the Conjuror but had to come away in the middle & rush home & dress for dinner Mr & Miss Owens, Gallanga, Merry y Colon, Adlr Polo dined with us. | |
