| 19 February 1875 — Madrid | |
| Friday. 19th [February 1875]. We went to the Opera to Chaudordy’s box to hear Verdi’s Messe de Requiem. It was badly done tho’ Tamberlick, Sasse Vander Miller & David sang the 1st part—usually the chorus was very bad. We took Clarita with us. At 10½ we had had eno’ of it & we went to the Greindl’s where there was the whole corps. dip: but I had a headache & we could not stay. They were all except me in Cr Mourning for D. Sebastian who died at Paris. | |
