1 March 1875 — Madrid | |
Monday. 1st March [1875]. Worked & painted. Drove out at 3 & went to see the Dss de la Torre to tell her Henry wanted to see her & she arranged to come to us at 6. I then drove with Emilia we left cards & went to Bach to buy jet ornaments. After I had taken her home I fetched Henry from the Recolletos & brought him home. The Dss came at 6 & she & Henry had a talk abt Serrano’s not going to see the King. At 9 we went to Mirecki’s concert. It was rather a good one, the Hunts sang & Mr Hunts octett was played & was a great success. Most of the dip corps sat together. We were home by 12. | |
