16 March 1875 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 16th [March 1875]. Painted. Esquivel came to arrange abt what I am to paint. We settled it should be a picture of the end of our drawing room. While he was with me Clarita called & then Sir Cecil Lady Beadon & Miss Bruce to take leave us they start for Cartagena tonight to go to Marseilles. Henry & I drove out in the afternoon to try & find the Quista del Espiritu Santo to call on the the Marquis d’Assereta. We did not find his house & after being sent backwards & forwards we gave it up. Coming home I called on Mme Thedner. In the eveng we went to a great party at the Koudriaffskys where were all kinds of grand people. Mirecki & Beck played but no one listened to them but chattered all the while. | |
